ABSTRACT: Grinding is the most important method for the machining of engineering ceramics. It is necessary to reveal its machining mechanism thoroughly for the development of new method of machining engineering ceramics with high efficiency, low cost and low damage.This paper introduced the progress of the study on material removal mechanisms in ceramic grinding, some conclusions and suggestions are given.
