It was known from Xiamen Customs that in the first 4 months of this year, trade value between Fujian province and ASEAN stood at USD3.72b, up 61.1% year-on-year, with the monthly import hitting a new record high in April since 2008 and the import of ASEAN competitive products including coal, natural rubber and liquefied natural gas growing apparently.

Statistics indicated that from January to April, import of Fujian from ASEAN amounted to USD1.43b, and export to ASEAN USD2.29b, up 80% and 51.2% respectively. Among them, in April alone, import and export was USD1.1b, up 66.1%, with import speeding up apparently to USD410m, up 95.7%, hitting a new record high in monthly import since 2008.
