Vietnam's steel export increases in first four months

Vietnam exported 419,000 tons of steel in the first four months of this year, posting a threefold surge over the same period last year, said the General Department of Vietnam Customs on Tuesday.
The country earned 320 million U.S. dollars from shipping steel to foreign markets during this period, said the department.
The department said that in January-April period, Vietnam sold its steel to a lot of markets including Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, India and Brazil.
Cambodia topped the Vietnam's steel export market in this period. Vietnam supplied the Cambodian market with 95,200 tons of steel, up from 55,631 tons in the corresponding period of last year.
Cambodia was followed by India and Malaysia with steel import volume from the Vietnamese market respectively standing at 60,000 tons and 47,500 tons in the first four months of this year.
