Hu Jintao Met with US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner

On the afternoon of May 25, Chinese President Hu Jintao met with the special representatives of the US President Barack Obama Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner attending the second-round China-US Strategic and Economic Dialogues at the Great Hall of the People.
Hu highly appreciated the positive achievements in this round China-US Strategic and Economic Dialogues and thought highly of the important role of the mechanism of China-US Strategic and Economic Dialogues in reinforcing bilateral strategic mutual trust and cooperation, hoping both parties earnestly implement the agreements and measures made at the two rounds of dialogues, timely sum up experience and step up the construction of systems to render the China-US Strategic and Economic Dialogues to be more effective and play a greater role in boosting the development of Sino-US relations.
Hillary Clinton and Timothy Geithner expressed thanks to Hu for his meeting, stating that the establishment of bilateral strategic and economic dialogue mechanism proposed by Chinese President Hu Jintao and his counterpart Barack Obama is visionary, and the just finished second-round China-US Strategic and Economic Dialogues is of great significance.
