Chinese vice commerce minister Zhong Shan held the symposium on foreign trade in Hefei to know about the provincial current foreign trade status and hear the opinions and suggestions of related departments and enterprises. And Vice Governor Hua Jianhui attended the symposium.
Zhong thought highly of the achievements and experience made by the province in fighting against the international financial crisis, hoping to further raise the level of the export-oriented economy and transform the growth pattern of foreign trade to make new contributions to the provincial economic and social development and the national foreign trade growth.
Zhong pointed out that the impact of the international financial crisis still hangs over, so the foreign trade situation throughout the year is not optimistic. General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee Hu Jintao stated that the impact of the international financial crisis on Chinese economy is aimed at the economic growth speed in surface but at the economic growth pattern, as a matter of fact. China has become the world’s first largest export country but is not strong. The existing foreign trade growth pattern is difficult to go on. So to shore up the position of a power and advance the process of making the country strong shall speed up the transformation of foreign trade growth pattern.
He stressed that we shall make great efforts to boost “four modernizations” and further optimize the subjective structure, commodity structure, market structure and trade structure.
