Representatives from Chinese Ningbo port recently visited Gdansk port, on the Baltic coast in northern Poland, with the purpose of finding a European port capable of handling a large quantity of containers, Polish News Bulletin reported. An agreement on a partnership between the two ports was signed two years ago, but negotiations had been halted due to the economic crisis. Ningbo port wants to debut on the stock exchange soon and it seems that the port would like to raise means for the investment in Gdansk on the stock market. At the same time the ports of Szczecin and Swinoujscie in Poland are trying to attract the investors from China. The two cities offer about 160 hectares of land, which could be used for the construction of logistic centres or storage facilities.
