Chinese mainland's negotiator on cross-Strait ties Chen Yunlin started talks with his Taiwan counterpart Chiang Pin-kung on Tuesday morning in Chongqing Municipality, southwest China.
Chen, president of the mainland-based Association for Relations Across the Taiwan Straits (ARATS), and Chiang, chairman of the Taiwan-based Straits Exchange Foundation (SEF), will exchange views on a long-awaited economic pact and an agreement on the protection of intellectual property rights during their talks.
This was the fifth round of talks between them in two years.
