Zimbabwe: Masimirembwa Named Head of ZMDC

Zimbabwe's President Robert Mugabe has approved the appointment of Godwills Masimirembwa as the new chairman of the Zimbabwe Mining Development Corporation.
Masimirembwa will take over for Gloria Mawarire, who served as ZMDC Chair since March 2009.
Mines and Mining Development Minister Obert Mpofu confirmed the appointment.
According to All Africa, Masimirembwa will take office on June 28 2010, for a three-year term, pending possible extension of office.
Masimirembwa, a lawyer, has served as the chairman of the National Pricing and Incomes Commission since 2007.
