The effect of a driven rotary steel dressing device on the subsequent performance of a resin bonded diamond grinding wheel, used to grind Silicon Nitride ceramics, is described. The influence of increasing dressing parameters such as speed ratio arid dresser depth of cut are shown to cause an increase in dressing forces, consistent with the size of chip produced in a dressing operation.
