The annual public meeting of the 47th Street Business Improvement District (BID), which encompasses the New York City Diamond District, has been set for July 19, National Jeweler reported.

New York City Comptroller John Liu will be the keynote speaker, and highlights will include the 47th Street BID's adoption of a new budget and a vote for the new board of directors for the year.



According to the report, the Diamond Awards of Merit are scheduled to be presented to Congressman Anthony Weiner and New York City Public Advocate Bill de Blasio. In addition, food and refreshments will be served.
