US Polished Diamond Imports +83% in June

The US polished diamond trade showed improvement on year-on-year basis in June, as polished exports rose 69% to $1.6 billion and polished imports added 83% to $1.8 billion.
In the said month, net polished diamond imports valued at $168 million, from $16 million in June 2009.
According to Diamond World, exports of rough diamonds dipped 35% to $28 million and imports slipped by 8% to $44 million.
June's, net rough imports valued $16 million from $5 million in June 2009.
The country’s net diamond account valued $184 million from $21 million in the same month last year.
