TransGuardian averted this month what could have been a $23,000 loss for Los Angeles diamond dealer Gerson & Horowitz.
A package sent to the firm was delivered to another jeweler by mistake, who did not notify anyone of the error. However, TransGuardian employee Maria Rolon discovered the mistake through TransGuardian's tracking program and contacted Larry Horowitz, after which TransGuardian contacted the jeweler who had actually received the package meant for Gerson & Horowitz and sent representatives to retrieve it and deliver it to its rightful recipient.
Jim Moseley of TransGuardian said that while the company's insurance policy would have covered Gerson & Horowitz's loss, averting such losses in the first place was what allowed TransGuardian to "guarantee the lowest prices available anywhere in the gem and jewelry industry."
Horowitz praised TransGuardian's service and said that the shipping company had often come through when other firms had not. "TransGuardian's online software is the easiest and most powerful around." Horowitz said that TransGuardian "outperformed" their competitors and generally provided the best service for the best price.
