Since the beginning of 2010, a number of enterprises of Fortune 500, such as Bertelsmann of Germany, Flextronics of Singapore, Sumitomo Electric of Japan, Hitachi of Japan and HP of the U.S., have gradually settled in Jiangxi. From January to July, Jiangxi approved 571 foreign-invested enterprises to settle down, up by 25.77% year-on-year; the contractual foreign investment was USD3.607b, up 32.11% year-on-year, the actual utilized foreign capital still stayed ahead in Middle China. From the reform and opening up to August of 2004, there had been 20 enterprises of Fortune 500 introduced to Jiangxi, but now more than 40 enterprises belong to Fortune 500 have settled in Jiangxi.
