Champion tennis player Maria Sharapova is sparking in diamonds at this year's US Open, having entered into a partnership with Tiffany & Co. jewelry and diamond company to wear yellow diamond earrings from the jewelry house's new collection for the four Grand Slam tennis tournaments.

Sharapova has selected a pair of drop earrings that feature both rare yellow diamonds and white diamonds set in 18 karat gold and platinum.

The tennis champion said that the colored diamonds made the Tiffany earrings "even more extraordinary" and added that "wearing Tiffany diamonds on or off the court is always a special experience."

Tiffany's jewelers select yellow diamonds of the purest color, which are cut to maximize their natural yellow hue. Jewelers at the veteran house then set the polished diamonds in modern designs, making Tiffany's yellow diamond jewelry collection a must-have.
