OGI Systems Ltd has chosen the Hong Kong Jewelry Fair from September 14-18 as the launch venue for its new, state-of-the-art GEMScribe diamond inscription system.
The company bills GEMScribe, intended for use on the girdle of a diamond, as powerful, accurate, and easy to use, but diamond suppliers exhibition attendees will have a chance to try the new diamond technology out for themselves at booth #11V19. Visitors will have a chance to experiment with GEMScribe on as many stones as they like.
GEMScribe boasts a number of features that distinguish it from other diamond inscription systems. GEMScribe can be used on diamonds ranging in size from 5 points to 1000 carats and on stones of all shapes. Font size, numbers, and shapes in the inscription can range from 20 to 250 microns, and the system also supports a wide selection of Windows fonts, including Chinese characters. In addition, GEMScribe is the only inscription system that can be used on some gemstones other than diamonds, as well as on some embedded stones, and requires almost no maintenance.
After the user has completed the inscription, GEMScribe's built-in Inscription Viewer photographs the inscription and the image can be added to the polished diamond's certificate as a bitmap file.
OGISystems Group Marketing and Sales Manager Lior Modlin said that throughout the GEMScribe development process, the emphasis had been on ergonomics, explaining that the diamond industry clients do not need to undergo any special training to operate the system.
Even with the system's "immaculate" features and added value, it is "affordable for anyone running a respectable diamond business," Modlin said, adding that GEMScribe could be purchased at an "attractive" price.
