Russian diamond company Alrosa will sell $2.78 billion in rough and polished diamonds by the end of September 2010, according to estimates. At the end of August, the company's sales stood at $2.565 billion. Alrosa plans to sell a total of $3.344 billion of rough and polished diamonds by the end of 2010, a slightly higher number than in previous sales estimates of its diamond trading.
During a recent workshop with company managers Alrosa President Fedor Andreev addressed issues of long-term development, the company's current financial status, and its sales policy.
The diamond company has found that the demand for rough diamonds stabilized in H2, particularly for the premium business sector, as the diamond trade recovered from the recession.
