It was known by the reporter from the China Import Forum 2010 held today that China has become the world’s second largest import country through proactively expanding import. And China will adopt eight measures in the three aspects of optimizing import structure, boosting convenience of import and perfecting import promotion system to encourage import expanding and promote trade balance in the future.

In 2009, China realized total retail sales of consumer goods of RMB12.53t, an actual increase of 16.9% after deducting the price factor, to hit a record of the highest actual growth speed since 1986. It was estimated that China’s domestic market size will amount to USD2t in 2010, far higher than total export of China.
