Hebei Iron &Steel Group to reduce output for sake of energy-saving

China's Hebei Iron and Steel Group (HBIS) has received an official notice from the Hebei provincial government to decrease the use of electricity in order to save energy, according to reports Wednesday.
Tangshan Iron & Steel, a subsidiary of HBIS, was requested to reduce its steel output from September to December so as to meet the energy-saving standard set by the Tangshan government.
Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Shandong, Guangxi, Gansu provinces are all taking measures to save energy and reduce emissions in order to meet standards set by the central government and its eleventh Five-Year Plan.
