Vice Minister Chen Jian Met with Japan-China Economic Association Delegation

Vice Minister Chen Jian met with the visiting Japan-China economic association delegation headed by Fujio Cho, Chairman of Japan-China Economic Association and Senior Advisor Hiromasa Yonekura, Chairman of Japan Federation of Economic Organizations, on the morning of September 8.
Chen stated that currently, under the situation that the world economy gradually recovered while facing with many challenges, China and Japan have common issues of accelerating the adjustment of economic structure and transformation of development mode, and discovering sustainable development. Therefore, the two countries should deepen the coordination and cooperation, which is not only beneficial for the economic development of the two countries, but also promote to raise the status of Asia in the world economic pattern in the future.
Recently, the 3rd China-Japan High-level Economic Dialogue was held successfully in Beijing. The two sides made in-depth discussion on economic recovery measures, mutually beneficial and win-win bilateral cooperation, as well as global and regional cooperation. Consensus was reached for enhancing cooperation and a number of cooperation documents were signed, which further promoted the development of Sino-Japan strategic and mutually beneficial relationship in trade and economy. Chen appreciated that Japanese economic community had attached greater importance to Sino-Japan trade and economic cooperation and hoped that the two sides could make joint efforts to seize opportunities for creating new prospect for the development of Sino-Japan trade and economic relations and make contributions to the stability and development of Asian and the world economy.
According to Fujio Cho and Hiromasa Yonekura, in order to conquer the financial crisis and maintain sustainable growth, Japan and China should enhance the two-way commercial exchanges and East Asia economic cooperation, further expand and strengthen the economic relations and mutually beneficial cooperation of the two countries, and jointly make contributions to the growth of the world economy.
Heads of relevant departments of MOFCOM attended the meeting, and exchanged views with the delegation on the issues of enhancing Sino-Japan cooperation in technical trade, two-way investment, regional cooperation and China’s policies on foreign trade and capital.
