In an announcement scheduled to coincide with the opening of the 2010 Hong Kong Jewellery and Gem Fair, the EGL Asia diamond certification company has said it will open two new diamond laboratories in Asia - one in Shenzen in southern China and another in Taipei.
EGL Asia CEO Joseph Kuzi said that the company felt it should establish a foothold in southern China and that the lab in Taipei would be the only foreign diamond company laboratory in the capital to offer full-scale diamond identification and grading services.
Kuzi added that in addition to grading diamonds, the labs would offer their services for jade, and that EGL Asia's booth at the Hong Kong Jewellery and Gem Fair would be offering free diamond grading and inscription for the run of the exhibition.
