The fifth APEC human resources development ministerial conference was grandly held at the Great Hall of the People on the morning of September 16. Chinese President Hu Jintao attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech titled to Deepen Exchanges and Cooperation and Realize Compatible Growth.

Hu stressed that Asia-Pacific regional cooperation is facing the first-ever opportunities, so member states of the APEC should join hands to make full use of the APEC serving as one cooperation platform to deepen and expand cooperation and advance towards lasting peace and common prosperity ceaselessly and constantly benefit the people of the Asian-Pacific area and the rest countries of the world.
