Rio Tinto is debuting its Argyle Pink Diamond Tender in mainland China for the first time. This year's tender features 55 rare pink diamonds and it will be displayed in Shanghai and Beijing.
General Manager for diamond sales and marketing at Rio Tinto, Jean-Marc Liberherr, said that the company was "delighted" to showcase its Argyle Pink Diamond Tender in China, and added that the event showed a growing appreciation for rare colored diamonds in the Chinese market.
Argyle Pink Diamonds has released a special publication, Rare and Collectable, devoted to the worldwide demand for Argyle pink diamonds and their value as collectables.
After the tender closes in China, it will travel to New York and then return to Australia in October, where the pink stones will be auctioned off.
