Ghana's Diamond Production Up 14% in H1

Ghana's diamond production rose 14% to nearly 202,000 carats in H1 2010, the country's Chamber of Mines reported.
Revenue from diamonds leapt 159% to $6.9 million, more than double the $2.8 million in revenue the country's emerging diamond industry generated in H1 2009.
Ghana remains Africa's second-largest gold producer, and gold production was up 3.5% in H1, with revenue from gold rising 31% to total $1.68 billion.
