India's Gems and Jewellery Export Promotion Council has awarded eight Indian diamond manufacturers for excellent performance in the jewelry and diamond industry, the Times of India reports.



The Kiran Gems; Dharmanandan Diamonds; Laxmi Diamonds; Sanghavi Exports International; Shree Ramkrishna Exports; JB Brothers; Shree Harekrishna Exports; and Star Rays diamond companies were congratulated for their polished diamond exports with "value addition" in the jewelry sector.



Rajeev Jain, Chairman of the GJEPC, said that India's gemstone and jewelry represented both India's rich heritage and rising industry standards and practices. The GJEPC awards, he noted, not only recognized the winners' efforts, but would hopefully "inspire the rest of the industry to emulate them."
