Gold, Diamonds Top UAE's H1 Non-Oil Trade

Diamonds were second only to gold in the United Arab Emirates' non-oil trade for the first seven months of 2010.
Data released by the UAE's Federal Customs Authority put the value of the country's diamond imports at $1.14 billion. Interestingly, diamonds were also the top non-oil re-export, totaling $1.44 billion.
The UAE imported $1.48 billion worth of gold from January – July 2010. The Emirates' gold exports stood at $849.6 million, while exports of jewelry totaled $84.4 million.
