China will continue to invite foreign companies to participate in its reform and opening-up drive, which will also benefit from China's development and prosperity, top political advisor Jia Qinglin said Monday.
Jia met with Guy Tozzoli, president of the World Trade Centers Association (WTCA), at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, where the 41st general assembly of the WTCA began Monday.
"China sincerely welcomes companies of all countries actively participating in the nation's reform and opening-up. I hope the WTCA will further strengthen information exchange and cooperation among its members to help them benefit from China's prosperity and development," Jia said.
Jia, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), spoke highly of the WTCA's contribution over the past 30 years to the promotion of cooperation between China and overseas businesses.
Tozzoli said the WTCA will make full use of its network to help Chinese enterprises carry out more cooperation with the outside world.
The WTCA's membership includes nearly 300 world trade centers in almost 100 countries. More than 750,000 companies are affiliated with the WTCA worldwide.
Tozzoli was invited to China by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, which is co-sponsoring the WTCA general assembly that will run until Oct. 13.
