Diamonds North Resources Ltd has finishing extracting a 25-ton sample from the Beluga-3 kimberlite on its Amaruk diamond project in Canada's Nunavut province and is ready to begin processing it, the diamond company announced this week.
A mini sample conducted at the Beluga-3 kimberlite in 2009 provided enough diamond content for the company to proceed with a larger sampling.
Thus far, 25 kimberlites have been found on the Amaruk property – 90% of which contained diamonds. However, much testing remains to be done, and a high number of mineral trains appear to offer high potential for the discovery of additional kimberlites.
