Diamond Dealers Club of New York (DDCNY) President Moshe Mosbacher, Managing Director Dr. Martin Hoffman, and Security Director Rick Pettignano met last week with NYPD Deputy Inspector Timothy Beaudette, Commanding Officer Midtown North Precinct, to discuss the state of security in the city's Diamond District.
Mosbacher said that the meeting was part of the DDC's "longstanding effort" to ensure that the Diamond District, with its "special circumstances and needs," received the maximum protection from the NYPD.
Beaudette said that he and his colleagues were sensitive to DDC's security interests and noted that the new security cameras on 47th Street provided an added level of protection for the local diamond industry.
After the meeting, Mosbacher expressed the DDC's appreciation for the well-established, positive relationship between the DDC and the NYPD, noting that the city police had always been responsive to the diamond traders' security concerns.
