The Rapaport Group plans to stream its Rapaport International Diamond Conference (IDC) – to take place Thursday, October 21 from 9 am to 5 pm – live online at www.rapaport.com/idc, the company has announced.
For those unable to attend the event at New York's Times Center in person, an interactive feature has also been put in play, which will allow "online participants" in the diamond industry event to submit questions to the conference's speakers and panelists in real time via conference@diamonds.net.
The morning session of the diamond conference will focus on "Diamond Demand," with presentations by experts Carol Brodie and Roy Williams. The afternoon session, titled "Human Rights and the Diamond Industry – The Way Forward," will address ethical issues in the diamond trade and feature presentations by ethicist Peter Singer and Board of Fair Trade USA Chairman Michael Conroy.
The Rapaport Group will donate all proceeds from IDC 2010 to the Fair Trade Jewelry Association.
