The winners of this year's American Gem Trade Association Spectrum and Cutting Edge Awards are on display in New York following the conclusion of this year's competition, Jewelers Circular Keystone reports.
A total of 450 pieces of jewelry featuring white and colored diamonds, colored gemstones, semiprecious stones and a variety of metals, were entered in this year's contest. The event was judged from October 23-24 by leading figures in the gemstone and diamond jewelry and fashion industries.
The Spectrum Awards – which judged cut gemstones and diamonds set in jewelry – were given out for the following categories: Bridal Wear; Business/Day Wear; Classical; Evening Wear; and Men's Wear. Winners included a platinum and 18k yellow gold ring set with garnets and yellow diamonds and a cuff bracelet featuring aquamarines and gray and white diamonds.
The Cutting Edge Awards were awarded for loose gemstones and entries in this category included emeralds, rubies, sapphires, as well as semiprecious stones.
