China has welcomed talented high-level people from overseas to start new businesses in China, said a senior Chinese Communist Party official.

Li Yuanchao, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, made the remarks while meeting Dr. Chih-Ming Ho and Dr. Mike Pao, two members of the U.S. National Academy of Engineering.

Li, also the head of the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee, said talented people from overseas could boost development of science in China.
