Diamond manufacturers in China believe that it has become more expensive to manufacture in China, says Liang Weishang, a delegation member of the Kimberley Process from China, who is representing his country at the KP plenary meeting - now in its last day in Jerusalem.
According to LIang, Chinese diamond manufacturers are seeking a new strategy for their future business.
Some Chinese diamond manufacturers are facing challenges with their competitors in other southeast Asian nations. A few manufacturers are moving their factories to inland China, where wages are lower and local governments grant industrial factories benefits as a way of helping local economies, but some others prefer saying with the developed industrial center with convenient logistics and information from the diamond industry.
Some of them have employed new technologies and machinery for processing diamonds so as to face the new challenges.
