China's manufacturing industry makes strong presence globally

Competitiveness of the Chinese manufacturing industry has toned up on an ever-more-noticeable way in recent years. While of primary products' declines, a report on the country's industries' competitiveness in the international market between 2009 and 2010, released by the China Customs magazine Tuesday showed.
Last year, of the 45 sub-industries mentioned in the report, 23 were highly competitive to the point of exceeding international average. And of the 23, 21 pertain to the manufacturing field.
Furniture manufacturing; leather, fur, feather and related products; manufacturing of cultural, educational and sports goods; textile industry; telecommunication equipment's making; manufacturing of computers and other electronic products made up the aforementioned 21-industry group.
While the competitiveness of primary products, from industries like the agricultural, forestry, herding, fishing and mining, contracted below average point.
The report also disclosed that in 2009, although China's exports received a heavy blow by the financial crisis, as a whole, good growth saved the day.
The index was based on statistics from the General Administration of Customs of China, Global Trade Alert (GTA), and other figures.
