Trans Hex South African Diamond Tender Raises $14M

The Trans Hex diamond company raised $14 million at its latest tender of diamonds produced in South Africa, the company reported.
The sale comprised a total of 12,360 carats of diamonds, which fetched an average per-carat price of $1,145.
Eleven of the diamonds sold were knocked down for more than $10,000 per carat, and one diamond recovered at Trans Hex's Baken mine sold for a per-carat price of over $30,000.
In other Trans Hex news, 5,700 carats of diamonds from the Luana project in Angola, 33% owned by Trans Hex, were sold at a separate tender for a total of $2.33 million – a per-carat average of $409.
