Cage bushing is the important part of the flexible guidance of coal mine shaft. The old materials of the bushing have some defaults including bad wear-resistance property, serious wear to the steel cable and high price. Through the research of wear and tear mechanism, ferrite grey iron was selected to use in cage bushing. The thought that graphite was suspended in grey iron was raised and proved from the theories of suspension cast and compound material. The good way of suspending graphite in grey iron was found through experiments. It was researched that the influence of different suspended graphite contain on the ferrite grey iron, and the best suspended graphite contain was determined. Through the comparing with the old material of the cage bushing, a conclusion was drew that suspended graphite ferrite grey iron was the better material used in cage bushing.
