Israel's Sarin Technologies has begun shipping its Solaris 100 diamond inclusion mapping system to customers in India's diamond industry, the company reports.
The Solaris 100, which launched in October 2010, is designed to handle small-sized rough diamonds.
According to Sarin CEO Uzi Levami, the Solaris 100 meets the needs of a "broad market segment," offering a lower entry level price and an ongoing pay-per-use model optimized for smaller diamonds. Levami called interest in the Solaris 100 "robust."
Sarin Technologies develops and manufactures cutting-edge planning, evaluation, and measurement systems for use in the international diamond trade.
