Synthesis and Mechanical Properties of Ni-P Composite Coatings Reinforced by Ceramic Nano-Particles

Electro-brush plating is a kind of specific method and new development of electroplating technique. To make the equipments have the characteristic of wearable、corrosion resistance, and make the plating coating has good surface. The nano-particle composite plating technology that is used for preparing the composite coating has a wide developing foreground in the face of machine accessory"s rebuild and repair. The article includes two parts of experiments. The first part is that Nano-particle Ni-P/WC, Ni-P/SiC were dispersed into the plating electrolyte by using ultrasonic、mechanical and surfactant, we have optimized the preparation process of the composite coating, and have confirmd the best parameter, when the thickness of nano-particle is 2g/L, The Ni-P/SiC, Ni-P/WC nano-composite coatings were prepared by an electro-brush plating. Experiments have been carried out to study the surface morphology, phases and element distribution of nano-coating by means of SEM, XRD, the electric probe, etc. In comparison to the conventional Ni-P coating, the co-deposited nano-coating has a denser microstructures, higher micro-hardness and wearability. The second part is that we wrapped the nano-particle WC of nano-partical with Ni-P by using eletroless plating technology, so the surface speciality of nano-partical plated is changed, and nano-particle is difficult to be reunited. Nano-composite coating Ni-P/ WC(the particle that is wrapped) is prepared by using electro-brush plating technology. Experiments have been carried out to study the surface morphology, phases and element distribution of nano-coating by means of SEM, XRD, the electric probe, etc. In comparison to the conventional Ni-P coating, the co-deposited nano-coating has a denser microstructures, higher micro-hardness、wearability and corrosion resistance. The research of electro-brush plating attracts most investigators all world, and the work of composite plating is developing. Currently, the metal alloy of NiP plating coatings develops gradually from two, three, four components to several components. The particle of composite platings develops from singleness paticle to muti-paticle, muti-fibre. It forms muti-function composition platings to satisfy industrial require. People will know that more profundity and study harvest will be gradually manifold. The foreground of application will be quite amplitude.
