Israel's Sarin Technologies, which develops, manufactures and sells precision technology for use in the global diamond industry, has acquired Light Performance Technology from Overseas Diamonds Technologies.
Light Performance Technology (LPT) provides a method to measure a polished diamond's appearance based on the diamond's light performance characteristics: brilliance, fire, scintillation/sparkle, and symmetry. The LPT will also provide a report on each diamond evaluated.
With LPT, Sarin can provide diamond retailers with a sales tool designed to simplify and enhance the customer's diamond jewelry buying experience, as well as contributing to the profitability and sophistication of the diamond trade.
Sarin CEO Uzi Levami said that diamond consumers were seeking "more readily understood information" on polished diamonds' beauty and value, and that by acquiring LPT, Sarin was in a position to provide the diamond retailer with that information.
"LPT will provide an enhanced 21st-century buying experience," Levami said.
