London jeweler Lawrence Graff, who in November made headlines when he paid nearly $46 million for a 24.78-carat pink diamond, now known as the Graff Pink, has acquired two unusually large rough diamonds from the Letseng Mine in Lesotho, Professional Jeweler reports.
Graff acquired the two diamonds – one 184-carat stone and one 196-carat stone – at a sealed-bid tender in Antwerp.
The jeweler said he was "delighted" at having secured the diamonds and that the purchase demonstrated his jewelry company's investment in the diamond industry. "We look forward to the challenge of cutting and polished these stones and releasing their full potential," Graff stated.
