Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi has given all 37 of Italy's female parliamentarians – 24 MPs from the lower house and 13 senators – gold and diamond rings.
The rings, whose combined value is reported at £44,000, feature tiny diamonds set in a combination of white, yellow, and rose gold.
The diamond jewelry was designed by Recarlo, a jewelry house based in northern Italy.
