Peregrine Diamonds President Brooke Clements has won the Hugo Dummett Award for his part in discovering the diamondiferous kimberlites at Quebec's Renard site in 2001, the diamond company reports.
Clements led the team of diamond explorers that unearthed diamond deposits at Renard, a project currently under development by the Stornoway Diamonds Corporation.
Peregrine Director Robert T. Boyd praised Clements' "extensive diamond exploration knowledge" and his "vision and determination," saying that this combination of skills had won Clements the respect of colleagues in the diamond industry and partners in the diamond venture.
Peregrine Diamonds CEO Eric Friedland congratulated Clements and noted that the Renard discovery was a "textbook example of systematic diamond exploration, which is being repeated with astonishing success at our Chidliak project."
Bob Lucas and Pierre Bertrand were co-recipients of the award, which was conferred by the Association of Mineral Exploration.
