Antwerp Polished Diamond Exports Up 22% in November

The strong trend of rising imports and exports of rough diamonds and polished diamonds that has been evident for most of the year continued in November, according to Antwerp World Diamond Centre (AWDC).
Overall, the statistics indicate a continuation of restocking of diamond inventories in the manufacturing, wholesale and retail sectors, AWDC said.
Belgian polished exports in November rose by 22% in volume terms from the same month last year, and jumped 28.4% by value.
Last month’s polished imports were up 16.8% by volume, and 29.3% by value.
Rough exports were 19.7% lower in volume terms in November, compared to the same period last year. By value, exports of rough were down 0.6%.
November rough imports rose 14.4% by volume and 26.7% by value.
