Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi may have raised eyebrows when he presented all of Italy's female MPs with diamond rings worth a combined £44,000 – but at least they knew who the giver was.
British Labor MP Luciana Berger, the party's spokeswoman on climate change, recently contacted the police when she received an anonymous gift of diamond earrings from a fan. The man also reportedly sent Berger cards.
According to the Daily Mail, the man is known to authorities, having sent diamond jewelry to another female MP. He is believed to be a US citizen with a keen interest in British politics and made no threats against either politician.
