Mumbai Diamond Trader Shot by Former Employee

A Mumbai diamond trader is in critical condition after being shot by a former employee, news outlets report.
Himmatbhai Rancchodbhai Makwana, 50, fired a number of bullets at Govidbhai Damaji Tank, 42 – who employed him 13 years ago. According to reports, Tank – who owns a company that polishes rough diamonds – accused Makwana of being a poor worker and stealing diamonds.
Makwana is in police custody and authorities are seeking to charge him with attempted murder.
In another, non-violent crime in the diamond trading center, a Mumbai bride related to a government minister was robbed of her gold and diamond jewelry. No one was hurt in the incident, and police were investigating the theft.
