Over 120 diamonds have been recovered in Finland, Karelian Diamond Resources reports.
Under the terms of a confidentiality agreement with Rio Tinto Mining and Exploration, Rio Tinto has given Karelian Diamond the first batch of diamond exploration data. The information covers more than 53,000 surface samples as well as information on kimberlites and kimberlite indicator minerals from over 200 locations.
Karelian Diamond is a diamond prospecting company dedicated to locating potential diamondiferous sites in Finland, which the company believes would be similar to Russia's diamond deposits. If a viable diamond deposit were discovered and developed, it would become the first diamond mine in the European Union.
