Synova, Sahajanand Team up on Diamond Cutting Technology

The Swiss company Synova, which provides a range of laser cutting systems, has entered into a collaboration with India's Sahajanand Technologies, which designs, develops, and manufactures technology for the gemstone and diamond industry, the OptoIQ.com website reports.
According to Prakash Rakholia, managing director of Sahajanand, Synova's Laser MicroJet (LMJ) solution – advertised as the "5th generation of diamond cutting technology" – delivers a higher quality of cut minimizes the loss of diamond material during the cutting process and enhancing the final value of the polished diamond.
Sahajanand Chairman Dhirajlal Kotadia said that the two companies' combined efforts would give the diamond industry a "competitive edge" by helping it meet technological needs.
