The country's 10 biggest steel mills produced 48.1 percent of the country's total crude steel output in 2010, up from 44.5 percent in 2009, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology said at a briefing Thursday.

The government aims to put 60 percent of total steel capacity in the hands of its top 10 firms by the end of 2015, according to its latest five-year plan for the industry.
