The World Federation of Diamond Bourses (WFDB) has launched a dedicated website ahead of the Presidents Meeting scheduled to take place in Dubai from April 11-13, 2011.
The website (www.presidentsmeeting2011.com) provides background information about the agenda of the meeting – hosted by the Dubai Diamond Exchange and the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC) – about Dubai, and about the local jewelry industry. In the weeks prior to the event, additional pertinent information about the program and the speakers will be uploaded.
WFDB President Avi Paz said that Dubai was in "an excellent position to host this important biannual event. I am convinced that the meetings in Dubai will prove a positive experience for all the world's diamond bourse presidents."
Moreover, Paz said, Dubai's diamond import and export number had doubled by volume by the end of 2010 – "a year for which we predicted recovery for the global diamond industry and indicates a rising trend for 2011, as well."
DMCC Chairman Ahmed Bin Sulayem said that his organization "welcomed the opportunity to host the upcoming president's conference in the United Arab Emirates."
"This opportunity demonstrates that Dubai has successfully joined the ranks of the world's leading diamond trade centers."
