Chopard Keeping 85-Carat Diamond Shrouded in Mystery

In a move unusual where the acquisition of a major diamond is concerned, luxury jewelers Chopard are keeping the details of 85.28-carat diamond the company recently bought to themselves, despite keen press interest.
This week, Chopard issued a statement that glossed over the diamond's precise specs: color grade, clarity, and number of facets.
However, without resorting to any of the standard grading terminology, Chopard's press release noted the stone's "extreme purity and sparkling whiteness," which it compared to the famed Koh-I-Noor Diamond.
The mystery diamond is for sale, price available upon request.
