Peregrine Diamonds has announced its 2011 diamond exploration plans for its 100% owned Qilaq diamond project on Baffin Island in Canada's Nunavut region.
The discovery last year of two diamondiferous kimberlites at the Qilaq site has sparked plans for a geophysical survey from the air followed by a ground survey and a drilling and sampling regimen. Besides the kimberlites, the site has been identified as containing "strong potential" for metals, including gold.
The Qilaq project extends over 4,370 kilometers and borders Peregrine's Chidliak diamond project.
